About Stone & Wood Brewing Company

For Stone & Wood, good beer is their thing. In 2008, three friends who’d earned their stripes in the beer industry, dreamt of the day they could quit ‘working for the man’ and get back to the basics established Stone & Wood. They chose to build their brewery in Byron Bay; a place renown for its natural beauty and laid-back, conscious lifestyle.

Nestled at the eastern tip of Australia, Stone & Wood made their home in a part of the world where people enjoy having a beer when relaxing after catching a wave, catching a band at the pub, or just catching up with friends. Stone & Wood brew beer for times like these, beer that is simply good to drink and celebrates a lifestyle of taking things slow and keeping it simple.

At Stone & Wood we say good beer is our thing; just as a good person is defined by their actions and the way they behave, we believe good businesses are defined by their actions and the way they go about achieving success. Through our Ingrained (community), Green Feet (environment) and Brewlife (people) programs we strive to be a business that puts people first. The B Corp accreditation is an affirmation that our practices and philosophies are aligned with a global movement of good businesses focused on adding value to all stakeholders, not just shareholders.

The Change We Seek®

Stone & Wood take a fresh approach to brewing handcrafted beer in one of the most beautiful places on earth. They strive to bring to life the combination of what was great about village breweries, and what a contemporary business should be. Through their Ingrained, Green Feet and Brewlife initiatives, Stone & Wood bring to life their belief in brewing for the community, supporting the people who support them, and treading lightly on this earth.

Traditionally, a brewery didn’t just supply fresh beer to the locals, it was a gathering place and could be relied upon to help support the wider community. Through Ingrained they support local grassroots causes and charities to assist in creating sustainable social and environmental outcomes.

Stone & Wood’s Green Feet program is pioneering environmental sustainability in the Australian brewing industry. They are constantly striving to reduce, reuse, recycle, and reimagine the way they make use of ingredients and resources to minimize their footprint on the Earth.

As an employee owned business, Stone & Wood ensure that the people most vital to their success have a stake in the outcome, and invest in the wellbeing and development of their team.
