From buzz to boom: How Gen B lit up B Corp Month 2025

It’s hard to think of a bigger, bolder or more buzz-worthy moment in the history of the B Corp movement than what happened this past month.

As we stand on the brink of launching the most significant evolution of our standards yet, and with nearly 10,000 businesses across the globe flying the ‘B’ flag—March 2025 was a moment, a movement, and a masterclass in what it looks like when purpose-led businesses rally together.

With almost 750 certified businesses in our region, and over 137 newly certified in the last year alone, it’s safe to say that the B Corp Month calendar has never been busier. Despite Cyclone Alfred doing its best to dampen plans and remind us that some of our most important stakeholders lie outside the boardroom, the B Lab AANZ team was proud to see a record-breaking 60+ events and activations celebrating B Corp Month across the region.

Thousands of attendees. Tens of thousands tuned in on social media. Dozens of brand collaborations, pop-up activations, panel discussions, giveaways, creative campaigns, and news headlines that were celebrating this new era of business as a force for good. It was a veritable groundswell of energy and engagement as B Corps, aspiring B Corps, and the B curious showed up in full force.

Heralding the Gen B campaign as our ‘most ambitious to date’, media coverage from Campaign Brief got the month off to a flying start. The message? Loud and clear: Generation B is not waiting for change—we are the change. So, let’s rewind the highlights, relive the magic, and see how Generation B showed the world what we’re truly made of.

B Corps on the ground and on the ‘gram across Australia

From purpose-led panel events to prize-packed giveaways, the vibes were high and impact palpable as Aussie B Corps turned up the volume on what it means to do business differently. With so many incredible events and activations across our region, it was hard to know where to look! Here is a handful that really caught our eye.

Creative agency Think HQ, accounting legends BlueRock, and storytelling maestros Laundry Lane brought the buzz to socials with engaging content celebrating their teams, their purpose journeys and their favourite fellow Bs. Meetpat brought the hydration, showcasing their refill station at Mt Stromlo (Ngunnawal Country) to highlight the role of sustainable infrastructure in community wellbeing. And the team at Corban & Blair brought the flair, transforming their window gallery into a vibrant showcase of B Corp creativity and impact.

FRANKIE4 stepped up for sustainability with a shoe recycling initiative tied to Global Recycling Day, and Jasper Coffee brewed up excitement with weekly giveaways, including Aeropresses, coffee vouchers, and even a year-long subscription. Dog and Bone created an impactful Telco Cost Reduction Program to help other B Corps cut costs while staying connected. And Circul8 offered pro-bono creative direction to fellow B Corps throughout March—because collaboration is the aim of the game when it comes to Gen B.

And let’s not forget the panels. Whether it was tackling ultra-fast fashion, debating AI as friend or foe, or reimagining financial resilience in the midst of a cost-of-living crunch—B Corps and B Locals brought their A-game and their insights to every room they stepped into this month.

Style, substance, and stories that stick across Aotearoa

Make no mistake, the spirit was just as strong and the beverages just as bubbly across the ditch—with Kiwi Bs events offering a distinct Aotearoa flavour and fierce commitment to purpose.

Captured beautifully for Ensemble Magazine, a Celebration of Style with Purpose set the scene at Untouched World’s Newmarket store. A night of sustainable luxury, styling, and generous B Corp brands, including refreshing drinks from Ozone Coffee, Sawmill, Pals, and Almighty, wines curated by Deep Down Wines, and a parfait bar complete with Raglan Food Company yoghurt, Blue Frog mueslis, Pic’s Peanut Butter, and Bennetto chocolates for the perfect little indulgence. There were bespoke beauty consults from Aleph Beauty, instant hit knits from organisers Untouched World, colouring pencils from Deadly Ponies, and beautiful baubles from Monarc

Amongst this fast growing community of locally grown B Corps, NZ-based BLUNT Umbrellas brought the panache, running a repair workshop that kept gear out of landfills and built community care into every canopy. Bared Footwear brought the knowledge, joining forces with fellow ethical fashion leaders to host a feel-good giveaway grounded in education and impact. Media company, Stuff, brought the insights on all things B Corp, spotlighting the business benefits of certification in the export industry, especially when entering new global markets. And NZ-owned B Corps Chia Sisters, Pathfinder, and Two Islands brought the wisdom: being a B Corp isn’t just about good ethics, or opening doors—it’s good business.

Encapsulating the heart of the campaign in Aotearoa were powerful reflections from Kiwi leaders like Tessa Bradley (Head of Product and Sustainability, Kowtow), Brian Johnston (Chief Impact Officer, Cogo), and B Lab AANZ’s new Aotearoa Manager, Michele Wilson, showcasing their trailblazing leadership in regenerative business at B Local Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington.

Sharing their stories on challenging industry norms, the struggles, rewards, and their advice, B Corps across the country reminded us how important it is to share knowledge, stay true to purpose, and lift each other up as the key to building a better future.

Don’t do it alone—collaborate, partner, and lean on your community. The B Corp movement exists so we can truly make an impact as a collective.

We came, we saw, we collaborated

What stood out perhaps more than anything this B Corp Month was the sheer diversity and breadth of this community, and the ways it shows up to lead the kind of change we need.

From the stages of Asian Fashion Week, Perth Design Week and Climate Action Week Sydney, to window murals, pop-up activations, and product giveaways that brought the ‘B’ to the streets, this month was a true celebration of creativity, culture, and collective courage. Being a movement that is “industry agnostic, but unified in spirit”, as Pathfinder Asset Management Creative Director, Lily Richards, describes—the B Corp movement is a living, breathing reminder that businesses can rise to meet the challenges of our time, and that they already are.

Excitingly, we also saw a homegrown idea take to the global stage. Featuring prominently as part of this year’s B Corp Month website, the individualism to interdependence message that you can ‘choose B Corp in almost all aspects of your life’—from your fizzy drinks to your finances, your undies to your utilities—was dreamt up right here in our region by one of our oldest Bs, creative agency Mkt. Communications, together with one of our newest, CARMEN GET IT!.

Inspiring people around the world to rethink how and where they spend their dollars, we have proof that our regional take on the practical, powerful, and deeply personal spirit of Generation B is resonating far beyond our corner of the globe.

Spread on your toast. Washing your hair. Keeping your coffee warm. Upping your vitamin intake. Doing your taxes. Managing your super. Investing your savings. Carrying your belongings. Cleaning your bathroom. Blowing your nose. Holding all your good ideas. Booking your next trip.

Think Gen B is going anywhere? Think again

With the launch of our new standards on the horizon, this year’s B Corp Month wasn’t just a reflection on what we’ve built—it was a preview of what’s possible

Each moment of the campaign spoke to a bigger truth: Gen B is built by businesses boldly shaping a better future. Because Gen B isn’t about a demographic. It’s not about age or industry or even geography. It’s a mindset—a brave belief that business can and must be a force for good.

And that’s what this movement is all about: millions of everyday decisions, made with intention and purpose. A growing collective of businesses, citizens, and communities refusing to settle for business as usual or contribute to an extractive, exploitative economy. Instead, it is a burgeoning generation driven by the unshakable belief that a better future isn’t just possible, it’s already in progress.

In a time of global crises, from climate to inequality to economic uncertainty, this movement offers a rare and powerful antidote: hope, rooted in action. So as the buzz of B Corp Month 2025 begins to settle, let’s not lose momentum. Keep choosing better. Keep telling your story. Keep building the kind of world you want to live in.

And after everything we saw this B Corp Month, one thing’s for sure: Gen B is not going anywhere. In fact, we’re just getting started.

On behalf of the team at B Lab Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, we continue to be amazed by the dedication, vision, passion, and creativity within this community. Thank you for showing up and showing out—and for doing it with so much heart.
