Harnessing the power of visual storytelling for good: Think RAPT becomes a B Corp

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Recently Certified B Corporation, Think RAPT, understands this old adage well.

The Think RAPT team support impact-led businesses to strengthen the way they communicate with clients and potential business partners, by using the power of visual models and storytelling. With a goal to work with 100 percent purpose-driven organisations, Think RAPT exclusively work alongside those who are committed to doing good for people, the planet, and animals. When it comes to impactful businesses uplifting fellow impactful businesses, they’re a quintessential example.

Extending their impact, Think RAPT also donate 5 per cent of revenue to their charity partner Koorie Academy, who engage and empower young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders through sport and cultural activities.

To celebrate their recent certification, we chatted with the Think RAPT team about their positive impact in supporting like-minded businesses, and the advice they have for aspiring B Corps.

Can you tell us a little about what you do at Think RAPT and how you help like-minded, impact-led businesses?

Think RAPT®️ is an award-winning pitching and proposal system that distils consultants’, experts’ and teams’ unique intellectual property into visual models. We’ve worked with hundreds of consultants and their teams to harness their genius for maximum impact. Putting a Think RAPT®️ system at the core of a business allows you to streamline your service delivery, stand out in a competitive market and scale operations.

As an impact-led business, we choose not to work with businesses that do not align with our values, such as industries harmful to animals, inherently environmentally unfriendly businesses, organisations who are not pro-choice, or businesses that promote diet culture.

Our goal is to work with 100 per cent purpose-driven organisations, and our team members, suppliers and clients must be aligned with our values: joy, impact, integrity, equity, and sustainability.

What makes Think RAPT unique as a business? Tell us some of the areas where you have the biggest impact, and the projects you’re proudest of.

We’re really proud to donate 5 percent of our revenue (not profit) to our chosen charity partner Koorie Academy.

We have chosen to support this program as part of demonstrating our commitment to being active allies for First Nations peoples in Australia. We wanted to support a program that is led by local Elders at a grassroots level.

We knew this program was the one for us because our founder, Renée Hasseldine, wrote her book on Gunai Kurnai land and the program is led by proud Gunai Kurnai man, Ricky Baldwin.

We truly believe in the work being done by this grassroots organisation and we have been developing a strong relationship with them over the last couple of years.

What made you want to certify as a B Corp?

We have always been driven by our values and our desire to make a difference. Becoming a B Corp seemed like a great way to formalise and solidify what we believe in as a business for good.

B Corps want to help transform our economy to one that is inclusive, sustainable, and regenerative. What business practice do you want to see become the norm?

I would love compassion to be at the forefront of the way we do business. To truly see and care about people and the planet before profits.

Do you have any tips for aspiring B Corps?

On our first run through the B Impact Assessment, I think we scored around 43. I was so disheartened, given that we felt like we already put our hearts and souls into doing the right thing. Thankfully, our B Corp mentor was there to reassure us and guide us through the improvements we needed to make. So my advice would be to join a group who are going through the same process with a B Corp mentor or coach.
